Congratulations to the GP Water cats for a fabulous District Championship Meet. The team had an amazing 31 personal best times swims.
The girl’s 200 free relay (Brittney Sanderlin, Mia Aleman, Laura Bennett and Eliana Dykehouse) and the 400 free relay (Laura Bennett, Laura Schmidt, Jameson Hundl and Hailey Hesseltine) will be advancing to the Region VIII Championships this Friday and Saturday at CCISD.

Captain Brittney Sanderlin ended her high school swim season with a technically perfect 100 backstroke, achieving her goal time of 1:15.82. Her positive outlook and leadership will be missed.
Captain Colten Bennett dropped 7 seconds in his 100 breast and continued to encourage his mates throughout the meet.
Senior Wade French made a big splash with his 11 sec drop in the 500 free.
Senior Sebastian Lindley placed 8th in the 100 fly and ended his high school swim career on a positive note by decreasing his 100-breast time by almost 3 seconds.
Senior Laura Schmidt’s strong work ethic paid off. She did a great job in the relays and improved in both her individual events.
Best technical performance was awarded to freshman Laura Bennett for her streamline and speed performance in the relays.
The following swimmers also excelled at their events Saturday: Abby Krisl 50 free, Marianna Lopez-Cadenas 100 fly, Luka Nelson 200 IM and Estrella Ortega 500 free.
“I am very proud of this group. They are exceptional academic students that consistently display good sportsmanship and place the needs of their teammates over self,” stated Coach Jackson.
